It’s called the Trunk or Treat celebration and there will be inflatables, food, drinks and all the candy you can gather! 2011 Fall Festival in Loveland
Some of you might remember the Frog Festival. It used to be the thing to do downtown in the fall. Well, Loveland has been the benefactor of Montgomery’s loss. Heartstone Foundation has been putting on a bike tour in Montgomery for years and it seems they came to Loveland this year, hoping to resurrect the Tour de Loveland since their tour was getting a bit big for Montgomery. The weather threatened to dampen the spirits of the 15th Annual Loveland Art Show participants and visitors, but Art won out! It turned out to be a very pleasant afternoon indeed. It looked like a very nice crowd that meandered through the dozens of tents, full of intriguing and tempting works of art.

Well, it took forever for us to be able to pull this story together, but we wanted to tell the vendors and management of the Loveland Farmers Market how much fun it was! I hear there might be one this fall, so keep your ears open. We attended a good portion of the event last week and we had so much fun. We participated in the Watermelon seed spitting, but alas there were more talented lips than ours.

We made it out to the Loveland Farmers Market this week again and caught some photos of the crops that are finally coming in larger quantities. Delicious looking tomatoes, corn and lots of other seasonal vegetables to choose from. It’s exciting to see a Farmers Market here in Loveland. We have a great Krogers here in town, but having the opportunity to pick up fresh, pesticide free locally grown vegetables is a level above what they can offer on a regular basis. On August 2, 2011, the Loveland Police Division will be participating in the annual National Night Out campaign. This event is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation in local anti crime programs, and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. The event will be held at Nisbet Park along the bike trail from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Members from the Loveland Symmes Fire Department will be present along with the Police Division’s K-9 Unit, Bike Patrol and Community Resource Officers.

The July Ice Cream Social is highlighted with a classic car show for you to browse and pick your favorites. Last year we had nearly 70 cars, with cars and trucks from the 20’s to the 70’s, immaculate restorations to custom hotrods. Registration begins at 1:30 PM, show begins at 3 PM, and trophies will be awarded at 5:30 PM. Enjoy one (or all) of our homemade flavors- vanilla, chocolate, chocolate chip, raspberry, strawberry, peach, butter brickle, and butter pecan.

Wee Three Kings Preschool, a ministry of Epiphany United Methodist Church in Loveland, has openings for the 18-24 month Parent’s Day Out classes. Classes meet from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Mon.-Thurs. Parents may choose one or two days a week. This is a great opportunity for your child to learn and play with children his/her own age, while you get some much needed time to yourself.
