Add a little Mud Madness to your life and learn how to make something that you can use and enjoy. We promise not to cover you with clay but it is a perfect opportunity to relax and explore the wonders of creating things out of clay. A perfect event if you are looking to try something new, spend special time with a friend, start a new date night tradition or bond with a buddy.

10-11am Granny’s Garden School – experience vegetables fresh from the gardens. Lindsey Cook, Chef Instructor at the Art Institute of Ohio – Cincinnati, will be preparing samplings of that morning’s harvest.

El Picante is a casual, clean, family friendly restaurant on Loveland Madeira Road just across from Krogers. Whether you are there to chat with friends or to enjoy a beer and watch some sports, you will enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. This year, they added a covered patio that doubles their space and offers a great dining experience on cool summer nights!

We love the chips and salsa. The chips are hefty enough to hold some salsa, but not so thick as to be hard to eat. We also enjoy their white cheese dip. It’s not particularly hot, but it’s definitely delicious. They have a great variety of Mexican American meals. Most dishes are under $10 and the portions are large. Some of our favorites are the Shrimp,Chicken and Beef Fajitas (#42 on the menu) and the burritos and quesadillas! They also have a kids menu to help parents whose children might be picky eaters. They run daily lunch specials too, always a great value! The full bar delivers your favorite libation, with Happy Hour specials Sunday through Thursday from 2 to 6PM.

The servers are always cheerful and polite. Even the owner, Roberto, takes his turn as server. He always has a smile on his face and likes to see one on yours! During the summer, they have a special tradition on the last Wednesday of every month! Next Wednesday, Mariachi Sol Jalisciense will visit to spice up the night. We have seen them several times, and always have enjoyed their engaging nature and wonderfully talented players.

This is a deal… hook, line and sinker! The Hamilton County Park District will be offering a free fishing day at Lake Isabella on Monday, August 30. Anglers may fish from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at no charge.

Visitors are asked to stop by the boathouse to pick up their free fishing ticket before they start to fish. Lake Isabella offers a 28-acre fishing lake with an outdoor fishing pier and a full-service boathouse with tackle and bait specials. Rowboats are also available for rental.

Lake Isabella is located at 10174 Loveland-Madeira Road in Loveland. A valid Hamilton County Park District Motor Vehicle Permit ($5.00 annual; $2.00 daily) is required to enter the parks. For additional information you may call the boathouse at 791-1663 or visit GreatParks.org.

Sunday August 22, from 3 to 4:30 pm Jenna will lead all of you. It should be a great chance to check out this fitness craze. There’s a $10 suggested donation (kids free, additional donations welcome) to go to help the Ministry rebuild what was torn down by the storm.

9 AM. – 4:00 PM StudentPalooza at Loveland Music Academy. Loveland is participating in a Greater Cincinnati event, Play Me I’m Yours! Saturday, students from the Academy will be playing. The piano will be avaliable for residents to play through August 26th!

4:00 PM-7:00 PM Bethel Murdoch Presbyterian Church Ice Cream Social hold their final social of the season. They will also have a quilt display available for viewing.

6:00 PM – 10 PM Second Saturday at Studios On Main. Artists’ studios are open, and their work is offered for sale. Get to know the artists. Light appetizers and beverages available. Great after-dinner destination with free parking.

Artists and patrons alike are returning annually to picturesque Nisbet Park in Historic Downtown Loveland, a delightful, park setting nestled between the beautiful Little Miami River and the Loveland Bike Trail. Celebrating its 14th year, Loveland Art Show is the most rapidly growing arts event in the area. Loveland Art Show is now firmly established as a quality, juried fine art show featuring an exceptional range of talented artists from all over the tri-state area. Check out this wonderful opportunity to purchase art, in all price ranges, – photography, ceramics, woodwork, jewelry, baskets, sculpture, and original painting in all media. Loveland Art Show is another event brought to you by The Loveland Arts Council,
A non-profit organization comprised of an energetic group of dedicated people who support the Arts in a variety of ways. All proceeds raised go back to the community to continue to bring quality arts events to Loveland and scholarships to Loveland students.

It’s been a long time since I carried a backpack! For me, it was usually in the Boy Scouts and it weighed a lot. Things have changed since I was a kid. Now, backpacks are a convenient, easy way to carry your books and papers to and from school. As I look through the ad circulars, I see their are so many kinds now. Unfortunately, some children in our town won’t have a new backpack to start their new year fresh. Some won’t even have an old one. You can help bring joy into a child life with such a simple gift!

The Loveland Initiative is running their Backpack Drive through Tuesday August 17th and they need our help! Terri Rogers, Executive Director, is asking us to gather some supplies and place them into a backpack to help children in our town have a better, more productive learning opportunity. Education is the single most effective way for a child to change their life circumstances. They need backpacks for all ages and have put together a list of items that the kids most need. You can get the details for what to buy and where to drop them off here on their facebook page. If you can see it in your heart, I know that every child who receives a new backpack will know that people in this town care! I know we do, so let’s show them how much!

Outdoor tasting in the Gardens
The gardens at Granny’s Garden School invite you to experience the taste of the harvest at its freshest. Stop by the gardens from 10 to 11 a.m. to enjoy the tasty sampling of that morning’s harvest. Student chefs from the Art Institute of Ohio-Cincinnati will wow you with their creations. If you want to help harvest for food pantry donations, come as early as 6:30 a.m. when we begin our day.
