The Loveland City Council passed a resolution this week declaring August 2012 as Recycling Awareness Month in the City of Loveland. The goal of the declaration is to encourage all residents of Loveland to increase their rates of recycling. The City has a long-term goal to sustain an increase in the number of residents participating in the recycling program in order to benefit the environment.

The City has already begun to increase awareness this month through its “Straight From The Heart” e-Newsletter. This weekly digital publication has included updates and tips on recycling, including details on which items are recyclable through the curbside program and locations for recycling odd items. Loveland also has a webpage for recycling located at www.lovelandoh.com/recycling. Residents can use this page to find out more about the City’s recycling program and initiatives.

If residents would like to participate in the curbside recycling program, they can visit www.lovelandoh.com/recycle-bin to request a free recycling bin. The City will deliver the bins to your home when available. There are no additional costs to have your recyclables picked up at your curb through Rumpke’s curbside recycling program. Residents may also drop off recyclables 24 hours a day at the recycling drop off site located on Karl Brown Way next to Loveland Canoe and Kayak.
