An afternoon in Loveland

We had some time available after our Saturday morning business meeting, so we drove up to Camp Dennison to look around. It seems like a nice place and we’d like to do an article on the history and the current township in the future.

Then, We ambled our way over to downtown Loveland, reveling in the warm sun as we drove the tree lined roads. The weather outside is probably in the high 20′s, but in the car the heat from the sun was all we needed to stay cozy & warm.

Downtown, we parked on the street and walked the shops along Loveland Avenue. Vickie went into Miss Annabellle’s Tea Shop, where some moms & their grade school daughters were wearing vintage hats, as if they were playing dress up. They were enjoying an afternoon tea & cookies. We looked in the windows at Tano’s new Bistro and were intrigued by its simple elegance.

We had lunch at the Blue Chip Gourmet Cafe, sharing a Honey Ham Wrap. It was delicious & Vickie even gave me a bite of her peppermint iced cookie. We sat and chatted with the girls who were running the shop as well as a couple who have lived in Loveland for over 40 years. The girls were telling how they would experiment with coffees and cookies, dreaming up delicious new flavors for the clientele to try. They certainly had a hit with the peppermint cookies, that’s for sure.

When you’re feeling stressed from a long week at work, remember you can go downtown and relax for the afternoon. We’re glad we did!
