Amazing Race sold out in under 4 hours
Loveland’s Amazing Race 8
MilfordMiamiTownship Tour
Next year’s race sold out in a record breaking 3 hours and 51 minutes after registration opened at 6pm on August 1st with 1200 people registering from 15 states.
“Unbelievable” said Timothy J. McKinnon
Managing Partner and Co-Owner of GetMeRegistered.com. “We handle online registration for thousands of events. The ones with extremely high demand sell out in 7-10 days. There are a few that reach their limit in 3-4 days. This is the only one we measure in hours. This year, 3 hours and 51 minutes. Now that’s an Amazing Race!”
Don Connolly who provides start and timing services to the event emailed from the Olympics in London noting the fun coincidence that Olympian Jim Ryun’s world record mile was 3 minutes and 51 seconds.
“Wow – it’s faster every year! We are gratified by the support of Loveland’s Amazing Race. Our goal is to show off and promote the community while raising funds for charities and having a great time! I think people respond to that. We are going to put on a fantastic course for them” said Race Director and founder Dr. Doug Portmann.
The event does a new course every year with 20 challenge stations. The course is kept secret until the day before the race. The event has given over $360,000 to community groups and charities over the last 7 years. It is always held on the Saturday of Father’s Day weekend and will be June 15, 2013.
